Estonia

We can organise and manage a corporate event in Estonia or anywhere in the world. Please contact us for more information.

Estonia is in the Eastern European Time Zone: GMT+2 hours, putting Tallinn in the same time zone as Helsinki.

Estonia is an unspoilt, sparsely populated country, nearly half of which is covered with forests. Wetlands, together with primeval forests, represent preserved communities which have for the most part been destroyed in Europe. More than 1,000 lakes (5% of the Estonian territory) dot the countryside, which is relatively flat - almost two thirds of the territory lies less than 50m (164ft) above sea level. While 7,000 rivers and streams carry rainwater to the sea, bogs and wooded swamplands of different types cover over one fifth of the country - a world index topped only by the northern neighbor, Finland.

Tallinn: the Medieval Capital

Estonia is best known for its mysterious medieval capital Tallinn, one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe. Visitors are enchanted by the narrow winding streets, cobbled pavement and towering ramparts. Opera and concerts, art exhibitions and antique shops, fine museums and well-stocked shops add the final touch to what the inquisitive traveller might expect from a city as varied as Tallinn.

The Romantic West Coast

Estonia has hundreds of kilometres of coastline. Enjoying the Baltic Sea includes sailing, water-sports, swimming and sunbathing on white sandy beaches in summer. Visitors can take curing mud baths at health spas. The islands and islets of the Western coast have been designated an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Estonian nature is in many cases better preserved than in many Western nations.

South Estonia: Forests and Folklore

The rolling hills, sparkling streams, lakes and dense forests of Southern Estonia turn into a hiking, biking, horseback riding, water-sports, camping and fishing resort in the summer and a skiing centre in the winter. The bustling small towns and picturesque villages still carry the stories of pagan legends and fairy tales. Numerous folklore festivals of traditional arts and crafts are genuine expressions of a thriving local culture, not merely staged for visitors.

North Estonia: Where Two Cultures Meet

The closer one gets to the Russian border in the Northeast, the more one discovers the heady mix of Russian and Estonian cultures. The famous Russian City of Saint Petersburg being within easy reach from there. Neo-classicist manor houses and ancient ruins contrast with the remains of the Soviet industry in the region. Vast national parks and scenic landscapes balance the picture.
